This is a question we are asked a lot. Let us help break it down. 4G is best suited to those in rural areas with no connection to wifi. This includes ranches, stations and farms. A seperate SIM card must be purchased from your local sim provider such as Telstra etc. WiFi is best suited for those in homes with connection to their modem/router that hosts your home's WiFi. If you think your camera spot won't connect, try and see if another device still can connect from that location. If not, 4G is the way to go.

Each camera lens (bottom and top) are 3 million pixels each. This combines to create a 6 million pixel resolution as its dual lens. It’s so clear that picks up every detail in two directions.

This camera does not come with an SD card. You can either purchase one from us (we recommend 128GB for optimal performance) or use the app’s free clip storage, which keeps recordings for 1-2 days. For longer storage, you can opt for cloud storage, which requires an ongoing subscription.

If you choose an SD card, it's a one-time purchase for local storage. Once full, the card will automatically overwrite the oldest footage with new recordings. A 128GB card provides approximately 3-4 days of continuous recording. Or, 3+ weeks with motion-activated recording.

If you have purchased 4G cameras, you must provide your own SIM card for the cams. We recommend 5-10GB a month pay as you go. Make sure if you are rural that these providers reach your area. You can check on their respective websites. SIM cards are not included and your 4G cam will not function without one. WiFi cams do not need a SIM Card.

The camera comes with brackets and screws for you to mount it anywhere. Simply drill the holes required and screw in. Alternatively, use zip ties or mount in a gutter.

The camera can see 15-20 metres. It has a dual lens. This means that one lens is fixed with a wide view giving you the whole picture. The other lens is a zoom lens with a movable ball bearing. This allows you to move the camera using the app and focus on different areas with a more focused view.

The app supports as many cameras as you’d like on one easy to use page. Devices can be shared to other family members, business members or employees.

The camera needs charging with a USB C cable (included) for 8 hours before use to give the solar panel a headstart. Once charged properly, the camera is ready to go on solar for good.

Solar power can still operate in overcast days as there is still light. Neverthless, if for whatever reason the panel wasn't charging the camera, the built in battery can last for days on end with no solar power. The Guardian uses adaptive recording functions -minimising power waste where possible.

It only starts to record videos when the AI detects human motion. You can also enable constant 24/7 recording. (If you decide to use 24/7 recording the SD card can hold 72 hours of video footage or about 3 days worth).

The camera can digitally zoom approximately 10 metres away and clearly pick up detail such as number plates. However, the camera can pick up larger details such as people up to 20+ metres away.

The camera uses artificial intelligence to detect humans and automatically track them with a light. This can be turned on and off from the app at will.

The camera contains 2 way audio that allows you to speak to people on your property in crystal clear clarity. Simply hold down the mic button on the app and speak.

The Guardian camera features a bright light to deter intruders. This can be activated in the app and used automatically or manually. It is excellent for deterring would be intruders!

Our PTZ lens at the bottom of the camera stands for Pan Tilt Zoom. The lens can rotate 360 degrees meaning it can even see behind itself!
